We get this one a lot.  As a full service studio we do not offer our images on a CD.  Why not you ask?  Well, because we are full service. We take pride in our sessions and making sure you have a great time.  We take pride in preparing your proofs, so that you see the best images from your session. We take pride in our post processing.  Post processing is the editing we do to your chosen images. We brighten skin, remove blemishes,  whiten teeth, thin out the belly or arm etc … all at no extra charge for purchased images.  Finally, we take great pride in providing you with a beautiful finished product, whether it’s a print, album or piece of ready to hang wall art. We package your products carefully, and want the delivery to feel like Christmas.   Full service costs more than a CD.  It also gives you  images that are finished to make you smile for DECADES. What does a CD fee like?  A coaster. It’s outdated technology that typically gets lost in a drawer. The images often never see the light of day except for maybe for a brief time on Facebook.  And then they are gone.  Gone with a corrupted CD.  Gone with scratches.  Lost. Maybe, just maybe a few make their way to the local printer, or your home printer.   Do you really want inferior prints or do you want the prints that last decades? We sure don’t want our name associated with bad, home printer pictures.  That makes us look unprofessional.  We want your friends and family to be ‘wowwed’ by the images hanging in your home.  So, long story short, THAT’s why we don’t offer CDs. We DO have a digital option for the digital age though. We offer a mobile app that is infinitely shareable, can be uploaded to social media sites, and displays your photos in a beautiful mobile brag book style.  Feel free to ask about this option during your session![/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Why do prints cost so much money?” tab_id=”1497191560778-ccf9eccd-463c”][vc_column_text]

We live in a society literally bombarded by hundreds of images every day. Welcome to the digital age where 9.5 out of 10 people have a camera in their purse or pocket. Yes cell phones count.  As a society we LOVE our pictures. As consumers, we can skip down to the local electronics store and buy a bigger, better camera; maybe even one that rivals the gear of a pro for a few hundred or at most a few thousand dollars.  Whoo hoo!  All those pictures, most of which will permanently stagnate on your device, card or disk will not be the kind of photo that you will pass onto your grand kids. The pictures with the greatest longevity are PRINTS. There. I said it. Old fashioned prints. Or new-fashioned prints on canvas, acrylic or metal.  Of those prints, the ones that you’ll most likely want to look at for years and years to come are the ones that are different. The ones that you probably couldn’t take yourself, even if you had a really nice camera.  They are the prints that the pro took.  And how did that photographer get to be a pro?
  1. Hundreds of hours of training.
  2. Thousands of hours of practice.
  3. Thousands of dollars worth of equipment including the camera, lights, backdrops, triggers, tripods, props and on and on it goes. (Although a really good photographer can take a GREAT picture with an inexpensive camera because of #s 1 and 2.
What else does the pro need to create that experience and product that will hang on your wall for years to come?
  1. Infrastructure in the studio including computers, editing software such as Photo Shop, telephones, contracts, business cards, hydro etc etc.
  2. More hours of training and practice to master the editing software.
  3. An artist’s eye.  They might be born with it, but it’s developed through #s 1 and #2 above.
  4. Advertising so that you can find them.
  5. Great products prepared and shipped from vendors that they can trust to deliver the best.
  6. Packaging.
  7. More training and practice to stay current in the industry.
And the list goes on.   So, when you are paying $49.00 for a print, you are paying for all the components that went into making that print something truly special that will last, and that you’ll love, for a very long time. Now $49.00 for 50 years of enjoyment sounds pretty inexpensive doesn’t it?  May be I should be raising my prices! 🙂
[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”How Much for an 8×10 Print?” tab_id=”1497192429753-8c0c0b81-cb25″][vc_column_text]This is our second most asked question by phone and in person. What’s the most asked question?  See the answer to our FAQ entitled  ‘How Much Do You Charge?’ for that one. First, if you are registering for a session with us, chances are, you are not going to go through all of that time and effort just to get one 8X10.  With the exception of event and high volume photos (where a single print order is common) if you only want ‘one quick picture’  you’re better off taking one of our workshops and doing the photo yourself. Seriously. We’re OK with that. Our sessions are meant to be fun, and memorable, AND they are meant to give you a LOT of pictures to choose from.  Before you ask how much for an 8X10, think about what you really want your photo to do for you, and what kind of experience you want in regards to the creation of your images. Want a digital file for Facebook?  Then check out our social media package. Want gifts for Christmas?  Then our collections are the most economically priced. Want one great print for the wall?  8X10’s typically disappear on an average home wall and you might be sorry you purchased something that small. Consider that you may want something larger in canvas, acrylic or metal. We have brochures to help you decorate with your portraiture. Just ask!  We also have a  pre session consultation available at no charge to help you plan your session and any purchases that you might want to make. We are here to assist and advise and you will never experience high pressure sales sessions in our studio. So, back to the question.   A lustre  8X10 prints from the A La ‘Carte menu is $75.00.   This price is lower and varies in our print collections.  8X10s are also included in some of our session fees.  If you feel you need to get the defibrillator after reading our price, then please check these FAQs as well: [/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What Forms of Payment Do You Accept?” tab_id=”1497192761588-f9b9f41f-c2ec”][vc_column_text]
We accept cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Paypal, and payments through Square. There is a $45.00 fee for all checks that go boing.

WCF Photography is a moderately priced, full service photography studio.  Our prices are definitely not the highest in the industry, but we are also not your ‘bargain basement, department store, one-hour-photo-stop shop.’  If you are looking for a cheap .69 cent print or a CD full of pictures you’ll never look at again, then we are not the studio for you. Prices: We start with a session fee.  This is the cost of creating your images. Session fees start at $75.00 and go up from there depending on the type of session. Session fees must be paid in full at the time of reservation.   Each session is priced according to the amount of time you’ll be our guest, the level of equipment and props that are required for your session and the location of the session. Some sessions include a number of prints.  From time to time select sessions, such as our Family Portrait Sessions will be on sale. Look for our Family Portrait sale in October and our High School Grad Session sale in May. At WCF Photography Photography & Design Studio,  we also have the ability to add AMAZING digital art to your sessions.  Digital artwork is charged at an hourly rate over and above the cost of prints and products.  BUT …wait … ALL, yes ALL the prints that you purchase are retouched free of charge.  We never charge extra for basic retouching, blemish removal or skin softening. Products: We sell lustre, metallic an pearl prints, albums, wall art, smart phone brag books, and have a wide variety of nifty gifts for the grandparents.  Our wall art ranges from the framed print, to gallery wraps, modern acrylics, and large, custom shape metal art.  We have an A la ‘Carte menu where you can purchase items separately, and we also package the most popular sizes of prints into Collections at attractive prices starting at $199.00.  High volume and event sessions are priced differently so that parents can acquire a large or small number of prints that  are very affordable.  From time to time, you can acquire a low resolution digital image or even a print for the cost of a can of food. Watch for our ‘Food for Fotos’ events. So you see, our price and product list is quite involved. How much you want to spend is entirely up to you.  We take pride in acting as your adviser during your proof and sales session. You’ll never experience high pressure sales in our studio.

If history tells us anything, it’s that people who have a plan are more successful than those who don’t. During your pre-portrait consultation, we will walk you through our 7-step process to perfect portraits.

Let’s schedule a free consultation and we can begin to plan! Each session is personalized and we want to answer all of your questions.
